They're closing down the mill, and we got lots of bellies to fill,
I took the side of a rising tide, but I can't seem to pay my bills.
We're all better off now I'm told, that the big boys got their stanglehold,
But what can you do when your wish comes true, and you see the bill of goods you've been sold?

Kept my gaze on that southern cross, but nothing seems much better,
